Chateau Rouget Pomerol,2017
Tax included.
Le Carillon de Rouget is the second label of Château Rouget, made from the estate's young vines and specific plots in their vineyards. In the cellar, grapes from the different parcels are vinified separately in stainless steel and then aged for 18 months in second-use oak barrels.
The wine is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, perfectly showcasing the soft, opulent texture and sumptuous flavors that make Pomerol such a special wine. In the glass the wine sit a deep ruby color with a slight tawny hue to the rim.
The nose is powerfully aromatic with a complex mix of baked raspberries, figs, sweet pipe tobacco, vanilla, leather and spice.
The palate is round and full bodied with fine-grained, luxuriant tannins and a high concentration of ripe cassis, plum and clove flavors that balance beautifully with a subtle mineral core.
