Château Simard -Émilion Grand Cru 2011
Made from a blend of predominantly Merlot and a smaller proportion of Cabernet Franc grapes, which are grown on vines that are over 30 years old.
The wine has a deep ruby color with garnet hues, and on the nose, it has aromas of red and black fruit, such as raspberry and blackberry, along with hints of vanilla and spices. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with a smooth and elegant texture, and it has flavors of cherry, blackcurrant, and licorice with a touch of earthy notes. The tannins are firm but well-balanced, providing a long and satisfying finish.
Château Simard - Émilion Grand Cru 2011 is aged in oak barrels for 12-18 months, which gives it a subtle note of oak and a refined complexity. The wine is approachable now, but it can also be aged for several more years, which will further enhance its depth and complexity.
Perfect for pairing with roasted or grilled red meats, lamb, and mature cheese.
