Biserno 2009, Lodovico Antinori
Intense and complex flavour profile
Made with a blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot, all grown in the estate's vineyards in the Upper Maremma.
The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel tanks before being aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. The wine is then bottled and aged for a further 12 months before being released to the market.
Biserno 2009 has a deep ruby color with purple reflections, and a complex and intense aroma of blackberry, blackcurrant, black cherry, and a hint of vanilla and chocolate. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with firm tannins, a good acidity, and a long and persistent finish. It is recommended to decant the wine for at least an hour before serving to allow it to fully develop its aromas and flavours.
This wine is considered to be one of the finest wines produced by Lodovico Antinori, and it has received high ratings from wine critics. A wine of great character and elegance, and it is a true expression of the terroir of the Tuscan coast.
